This subject articulates and tests the idea of construction as a process requiring cultural and technical choices, which covers the analysis of specific architectural ideas and arrive at the evaluation and selection of implementation alternatives. Mixing built examples and project proposals, It shown how to identify, evaluate and engage with the technological underpinnings of architecture.

  • Foundation

    Understand the structure of trip footings and pad footings. The reinforcement and concrete work together to resist tension an compression.

  • Brick Wall

    The cavity is typically filled with insulation to improve thermal performance. The main difference between the two methods is that double brick walls are load-bearing and self-supporting

  • Concrete Floor

    A type of formwork found in the construction industry. They comprise sheets of steel mesh laid horizontally on a sub-structure around which concrete is cast to form a ground floor slab, or suspended floor slab.

  • Metal Cladding

    Cladding is attached directly to the structure of the steel frame building. It does not contribute to its stability. Cladding is designed to insulate, and protect the inner shell of the steel frame building from external elements.
